The Department of Education acknowledges the importance of recognizing learners who have shown exemplary performance in different learning areas of their school life despite the extraordinary and challenging due to the COVID 19 pandemic and the implementation of distance learning delivery modalities this new normal. Through the Department of Education’s (DepEd Order no. 18 s. 2021, entitled Interim Guidelines on Giving of Awards and Recognition in Light of the Basic Education Continuity Plan for School Year 2020-2021. The awards given are designed to formally recognize the academic excellence performance of the learners.
This year, our school, conducted the recognition day last July 12 at 2pm via google meet with the theme “ Kalidad ng Edukasyon Lalong Patatagin sa Gitna ng Pandemya”. During this virtual awarding ceremony, it was attended by parents/guardians, learners, honor pupils, teachers, and visitors. The program was started at exactly 2:00 pm considering the internet connectivity that will be consumed. It was started by singing the national anthem, prayer, singing of a regional hymn, and division hymn through a video presentation. To officially opened the program, our Principal Mam Agnes A. Pelovello shared her opening remarks full of motivations and inspiration to our beloved graduating learners. These meaningful moments of recognition inspire others and reinforce behavior that leads to improvement through the inspiring message given by our guest speaker. To give some insights, Mam Arlene O. Rodriguez introduced the guest speaker Ms. Melody A.Salvador by sharing her personal /educational background and her achievements during her journey up to the present. The moment that she delivered her speech virtually, she recognized the effort, hardships of parents just to give the best education to their children. She also shared her journey from her elementary days up were she’s now. Her speech gave much inspiration to our learners to strive hard so that their ambitions in life will be fulfilled. As the program went on, it’s the time we’re waiting for, it’s the awarding of recognitions to our 17 pupils who have academic excellence performance, 15 of them awarded as with honors and 2 of them was awarded as with high honors. Moreover, one of the awardees delivered a message to his fellow awardees to give positive reinforcements as they go through another challenge toward their dreams. The program ended with closing remarks given by Mam Margarita R. Casupang, a Master Teacher II, with full of encouragement and gratitude to our learners, parents, and teachers.
